Purchased as a complete kit with McKenna fabrics and embellishment kit too (not the lazer cut). These are very easy to understand and are clear and precise. love how the shapes to be traced onto the fusible are in separated spaces for easy tracing to the individual fabrics. Because the fabrics were designed for the quilt it was mildly easy to match up for each of the pieces. If you love to search out fabrics this could look beautiful using your own batik choices too. The original fabrics are cotton (not batik) and can fray a bit when cutting the extremely tiny pieces. I think batiks would have been nice but definitely would not have had the same 'character'. Mckenna Ryan patterns are patterns I purchase that I really feel like I am getting my moneys worth for all the work she has put into it. note also...the tracing shapes are already printed in reverse, ready for the fusible. These patterns really are not meant to be hand appliqued as most of the pieces are simply too small.
