Even though I have many McKenna Ryan kits waiting in my stash of projects, The Journey to Light was the one I have finished and cherish because of the sense of accomplishment you get from her patterns. What I loved about this pattern is how McKenna Ryan turned me into an artist. I have always envied artists who can draw and with Ms Ryan's help, I became that artist I always envied through fabric and some thread. I had no problem following the directions and the small intricate applique pieces were a challenge that I enjoyed every step of the way. Why the Journey to Light in particular, because I love Christmas, Santa, wildlife, snow scenes, and the use of my favorite birds, cardinals and chickadees, were an added bonus. All my favorites wrapped into one quilt.
